
About Our Space
Bloomhouse officially opened in 2019, its name inspired by the flower manufacturing facility that had previously stood on the property. It serves as a meeting, activity, and event space for the community and a place to get information about the proposed development on the site.



Community murals
In November, 2019, Emerson Collective welcomed dozens of community members to Bloomhouse to unveil a series of murals that had been designed and completed by several East Palo Alto youth from College Track and EPACENTER Arts, in collaboration with local street artist Sami See.
In 2023, artist SCAPE Martinez completed a new floor to ceiling mural celebrating the history of East Palo Alto.

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow Mural
Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, is a tribute is a tribute to the people of East Palo Alto honoring the voices of its elders and celebrating the youth who embody its future.
ROOTS Mural
The ROOTS mural stands for “Recording Our Own Thriving Stories,” a testimony celebrating the voices of East Palo Alto.

Emerson also collaborated with Brandan “BMike” Odums — a New Orleans-based visual artist — to create the Bloomhouse mural, inspcired by a young girl named Nola.
