Aquaponics Farm in partnership with Viveros Farm

Bloomhouse is excited to partner with Viveros Farm to bring an Aquaponics farm to the EPA Waterfront!

Aquaponics is a sustainable farming method that combines aquaculture (the cultivation of aquatic organisms like fish) with hydroponics (the growing of plants in nutrient-rich water without soil.)  This combination creates biological processes that occur in both systems to create a closed-loop environment where fish and plants thrive together.

The farm offers an opportunity to learn about an innovative and sustainable way to provide healthy food. We also plan to provide opportunities for young people to learn how to manage and operate the farm overtime.

Check out this video on the project, and stay tuned for more updates and we continue to build out the Aquaponics Farm!
