Community
Conversation #3
MAY 23, 2020 – MAY 26, 2020
Since we could not be together in person due to COVID-19, the May meeting was held virtually. We understand the community is facing many challenges during this time, but we felt it was still important to come together and continue the conversation to collaborate on the future of the East Palo Alto waterfront.
In this session, we were excited to share initial design concepts based on all the feedback we have received from you over the past several months. During the presentation, we conducted polls to ask for real time feedback on the designs. You will find a summary of those poll results below, as well as comments received from community members. Links to view the recordings of the Zoom meetings in both English and Spanish are also below.
As we continue the process of collaborating with the community to design the EPA waterfront, we are learning from each interaction, and iterating as we go. What we presented in community conversation #3 is a first step in putting the community’s ideas onto paper.
We heard from many of you that you were excited about what you saw, that there was great interest in incorporating the history of EPA into what comes next, and a desire to iterate on the design to make it feel more unique to the culture of East Palo Alto. Our next step is to submit our pre-application to the City, receive their input and guidance, and then continue to hone the design with additional input from all of you. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue to listen, engage and create together.
